This is Disco's favorite shirt. No matter how you feel about yesterday's outcome I think we can all agree with these politics!

Rock the Vote!
Or should I say "Barack the Vote"!
The family went together to vote this year on November 4th. It is an important process that both sides of our family value. I remember running around the voting booths as a little kid - it was pretty cool. My parents voted at an old schoolhouse in our community - it even had an outhouse!
As an adult, I may not agree with every candidate my parents vote for but they taught me a valuable lesson. We each have a voice when we vote. To this day I still call my dad and talk about my vote (usually to laugh about how our votes cancel each other out!). I hope our kids will look back at our process of dragging them to the polls and remember how important it is. Of course our current voting venue doesn't have a cool outhouse!
We started the day in election mode - we hit the polls first thing with big sis decked out in her American flag shirt and red skirt and little man wore a onesie that said "I vote for a change (my diaper is wet!)". As we were waiting in line we had a conversation with big sis about the process. As she was looking at the ballot she began this discussion:
Big sis: I can read that!
Me: What does it say?
Big sis: Barack Obama
Me: Who is running against Barack Obama
Big sis: (long pause) Uncle Scott!
Disco and I had a big laugh - sorry Uncle Scott, you weren't our write in vote today! Big sis got to wear my "I voted" sticker to school - the sticker of course was the best part of voting for her!
