Out with the old . . .

... and in with the new!  We purchased the "beer-ater" when we first bought the house.  It was intended to be a "starter" fridge and was pretty much all that would fit in our tiny kitchen before the remodel.  At the time we remodeled the house in 2008 we were cutting non-necessities to keep the construction costs under control.  So no new appliances :(

Some of our friends recently updated their appliances through a 0% interest store card (thanks catlady for the tip!).  So we decided we are done utilizing only half of the tiniest fridge around.  We could only use the front half of our fridge, anything in the back would freeze

The plan was always to keep the "beer-ater", if it was still running, for Disco's beer making hobby.  But the rebate was still available to recycle the fridge and the "beer-ater" was too big for the current state of the shed.  In the end Disco chose the rebate and a future option for a "beer-ater" that actually will serve his needs better. 

Bye bye "beer-ater "- you served our young family well!!!  And HELLO ice maker and interior water dispenser - I've been dreaming of your services!  :)

Computer Glitch

Technology . . . I hate it when it breaks!  Our home computer is down for a few days due to a faulty modem.  So pictures and posts will have to wait.  I am hoping for a quick recovery but this was not a good month for equipment failure.  Fingers crossed!

Rats!

Uninvited guests who believe that our week was not busy enough as it is. Now I have to worry that they will actually make it through the air conditioner vents and into the room with my sleeping babies. Really? Is it not enough that we are busier now than we were this past spring?

All I can say is at least they didn't decide to make their move inside the house last week while Disco was traveling. I would have moved out of the house until he got back. Seriously.

Painting

Here is the pic from August 2008 of big sis painting her walls purple. We guided her toward a shade of lavender - left to decide completely on her own the walls would have looked like Barney! She is adjusting really well to her new room so far. Much better than momma. Of course I would be doing better if baby Elmo hadn't woken us up last night. Toys that talk on their own in the middle of the night are creepy . . . especially when you hear them over the monitor!

Valentine's New Room

Happy Valentine's Day! We spent the day enjoying sunshine at the zoo and park with our buddies. And then we all headed to the Arts Center so that big sis and I could see a play while the boys viewed art. The day ended with some heart shaped pizzas - all in all a great Valentine's Day!

Tonight is big sis' first night in her big girl room. "Uncle Sam" bought big sis' new mattress and Disco spent most of the day getting her room ready for the move. I am probably the most apprehensive because this is the first time she hasn't slept in our room in almost a year. Next week we concentrate on little man's new room. Sigh . . . we are so ready for the transition but yet another reason time is flying by way too fast.

Tomorrow I will post some pics of big sis painting her room way back in August. I don't even have enough space to list all of the specifics which caused our delay, but mostly construction issues and problems related to living in an old house. People ask us if we are settled . . . there will always be more projects. But I love this house anyway!
