The Fourth of July

I think the 4th of July is my favorite holiday.  I know I have mentioned the 50+ year tradition of family festivities more than once on the blog.  I could be nice and link to those old posts but I am being lazy tonight. ;)  Our 4th of July tradition is one that includes old friends, good food, new friends, LOTS of children, fireworks, watermelon, and fun times in the country.  This year we even got to see some floating lanterns soar over from someone else's firework display (like the ones from Tangled).

Feeling Better

Little man finally fought off his fever Sunday afternoon. So we got to enjoy the fourth of July and he returned to the germ breeding ground we call daycare today. We even made a quick trip to a local build your own yogurt shop tonight. The kids had fun and ate every single bite! It is nice to have little man back to feeling normal. He was all giggles and silliness today :). I'll load pictures from the fourth and ice cream adventures tomorrow.

Summer Bugs

Little man is sick, again.  We were able to have an appointment with our own doc this past week instead of being fit into the schedule of whoever was available.  It was a good appointment in that we talked about the issues we had with fevers this past spring.  And we now have a game plan for the next couple of months and we will be monitoring the timing of illnesses a little more closely this summer.  If he does not have a fever in July then a couple of concerns are ruled out completely. 

Little man has been running a fever since Wednesday night.  When little man is running a fever he looks like this:

We are giving this current bug until Tuesday to hit the road - and then back to the doc if the fever is still lingering.  Ready for little man to feel better!
