Another forgotten video/post. Behold the OREO! Just a boy discovering an oreo for the first time. This video was taken January 2010. I can't believe how grown up little man is these days compared to this video. They really do grow up SO FAST! We don't have as much video of big sis as a toddler - so it is a treat to be able to look back at our sweet little man. Enjoy!

Ka-Chow
I am just worn out with our schedule lately - fun activities and lots of work all at the same time. And little man is about to drive us batty as he digs his heels in for the "troublesome threes" that are soon to arrive at our house (we are literally being hit over the head with glimpses of 3 already). Needless to say I am not keeping up with blogging. So I was searching for some posts that might have gotten "lost" in the shuffle and found this one I FORGOT to post this past Christmas. I'm glad I found this video. It made me smile today - enjoy!
Disco got a new "toy" during the after Christmas sales this year. It was a remote control to turn on the Christmas lights. Of course he couldn't just pack it away for next Christmas . . . so he taught the kiddos how to turn on the tree lights by "magic." Disco taught them to use the word Ka-Chow because we are big fans of the movie Cars (especially Mater but Lightning McQueen is cool too). I left the true ending to the video. Usually I edit out the downward spiral and chaos but it just cracked me up that they were tussling over "lighting" the tree. True sibling rivalry!

Daffodils
We make a yearly trip to visit a mountain FULL of daffodils. It is one spring activity that we have yet to miss. This year we took our first visit on a Friday evening in hopes for a smaller crowd. Upon arrival we discovered little man was COVERED in hives! I had forgotten to wash his outfit before putting it on him and he was definitely reacting to it. Shortly after we took off the offending clothing little man started to look much better (but all we had were some neon green shorts as replacements for the adorably offensive overalls). To be on the safe side we still left early to load him up with benadryl. But the daffodils are quite a drive and little man had no respiratory symptoms so we let him run a little bit before loading back up in the car. Disco snapped some great shots of the kiddos in between all of their running adventures!

Party Post #8: Summing Up
After big sis' party, my aunt sent me a poem written by my cousin. I think my cousin captured the spirit of the the party perfectly. From the parade, to the NOISE, to the effects of CAKE, to the exhaustion felt by all 4-5 year olds as they left the festivities. So sweet! :)
"The rhythmic steps of marching feet
to a not so all together beat
where it all began not long ago
when a parade of people put on a show
for some time all you could hear was horns
a sea of people lead by one short majorette
with a wand almost too tall for the whole set
though the shortness of the first did not surprise
it was slightly odd that only a couple could arise
the sight of this slight procession
caught the eye of everyone in the accommodation
It ended short much like the leader
as all the people dismissed to the feeder
a hush fell over the crowd of toy like people
a match lit and then ignited five small flames
the hush grew to uproar under the steeple
the uproar did not again become tame
slowly the paraders left just as loudly
though the reason was not at all cloudy
they were trying to fight sleep
as their afternoon time for counting sheep
came rolling in to the passel of tots
they all went home to sleep in their cots."

Party Post #1: Table Activities
Too many pics for one post. So this is the first in the series. All in all big sis' party was a big success. Lots of friends! Lots of fun! This first post is dedicated to the tables of activities - coloring, masks, and even a doubloon toss picture.
