Fabulous Fall Activities #1

We have been having lots of fun as a family the last few weeks.  There have been some un-fun times as well - but that it just pretty much normal.  :)

So concentrating on the fun times: Dressing up in a home-made witch mask, picnic in the park with friends, camping with gaga and bondo and aunt k.

Happy 10 Years!

Last week Disco and I celebrated TEN YEARS of marriage!  It has been a running joke that we would renew our vows for our 10th anniversary in Vegas with Elvis officiating.  And we really do have plans to do that soon :).

The actual day of our anniversary we took the kiddos to Boo at the Zoo.  I'll post pictures of those adventures next.  It was a beautiful evening which really reminded me how much fun our little family has together.

Here is a sneak peak at the sweet tux Disco will wear for our renewal ceremony.  Yup, this is why I love him!  :)

Bikers

Fall is flying by already!!!  Which is great - because I am really ready to be done with my semester.  But moving fast has a few drawbacks as well.  Like how in the world am I going to finish everything before December 15th???  We are also busy every week in October with fun fall and school activities.  So when we get to hang around the house it is BLISS.  Well, if you consider BLISS running after two active kiddos.  And today I really would consider that bliss.  :)

My favorite new evening activity is to take the kiddos down to the river for a bike ride.  We did this several weeks in a row before the fair and Halloween carnivals took over.  The trails along the river allow the kiddos plenty of space to ride off their remaining energy from each day.  And boy are they tired afterward!  Sometime soon Disco will have his bike rebuilt so he can join them.  For now we just walk/jog alongside our little speed demons.  :)

Freedom Parade

The pre-k and kindergarten classes at big sis' school have a Freedom Parade every year.  The first year big sis was a little overwhelmed by the process and was in tears when she saw us.  This year she was so excited and loved marching and waving at us.  Her class was so cute!

Best part - we get to do this two more years since little man starts pre-k next year.  :)

Princess and Pirate Party

Maybe by the end of October I will finish blogging about our September activities.  ;).  Slowly but surely I am catching up.

We went to an AWESOME Princess and Pirate party.  By far a favorite for little man.  What 3 year old boy wouldn't love to swing an inflatable sword to fight the crocodiles?  And big sis loved running back and forth between the princess activities and the pirate activities.  Best of both worlds!

A tired little pirate! :)

Howdy Partner

Big sis and little man attended one whirlwind Saturday afternoon of parties . . . some time in September.  All our weekends from September are starting to blend together at this point.  Anyway, we went to our neighborhood block party, a cowgirl birthday party, and a gymnastics party all in one afternoon.  The parties were back to back and I have to say the kids were very well behaved and even though I was concerned I enjoyed taking care of all of the parties at one time.

The favorite party was the cowgirl party complete with pony rides.  Big sis rode the ponies twice.  Little man got in line twice and then decided he only wanted to pet the pony each time.  We were both cool with that scenario.  ;)
